When Arby Pulls Up While Anthony’s Car Is in Shayla’s Driveway! 🚗💥
"Your spot? Arby, you gave that up the day you stopped showing up!"
Arby (hurt beneath his ego):
"Wow. So that’s what it is now."
Anthony (cool-headed):
"It’s whatever Shayla wants it to be. And clearly, you ain’t it."
Suddenly, a toddler’s voice echoes from the hallway upstairs. Shayla’s baby has waddled to the top of the stairs, looking down innocently.
Baby:
"Uncle Arby?"
The whole room freezes.
Arby (softens for a second):
"Uncle Arby? You been telling him about me?"
Shayla (quietly):
"Yeah... he remembers you. I didn’t want to erase you from his life."
Anthony steps forward and gently picks up the baby.
Anthony (to the child):
"Come on, lil man. Let’s get you something to eat."
Anthony looks up at Arby while holding the child — a subtle power move. Arby stares, conflicted.
Arby (quietly):
"I guess I ain’t part of this picture anymore."
Shayla:
"That’s up to you, Arby. You’ve had chances."
Arby stands for a moment, then slowly nods and walks toward the door.
Arby:
"Take care, Shayla."
Shayla watches him leave, her face a mix of guilt and relief. Anthony returns from the kitchen, handing the baby a toy.
Anthony:
"You okay?"
Shayla (sits down):
"Yeah... Just didn’t think it would go down like this."
Anthony (sits beside her):
"Sometimes closure comes dressed in awkward silence and toddler interruptions."
Shayla (laughs softly):
"You handled that better than I expected."
Anthony (grins):
"I told you. I’m not here for drama. I’m here for you."
They both look at the baby, who’s now happily banging a spoon on the table.
Shayla:
"And him?"
Anthony:
"Especially him. Even if he calling Arby 'uncle'... We’ll fix that later."
They both laugh, the tension finally melting away.
Scene fades out with the sound of a door closing, a baby giggling, and two adults finally finding peace in the chaos.
